If you have not yet heard, the RIAA wants to shut down Internet radio. By increasing royalty rates for Internet radio, the RIAA is effectively forcing such great sites such as RadioParadise and Pandora to close down. Ouch!
I have been listening to RadioParadise for years. My monthly $5 donation is only obligatory because I would feel too guily otherwise. Since almost all the cd’s I buy are from music I hear on RadioParadise, I think the RIAA is doing a grave disservice to themselves and the public by doing this. The old expression, “Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face” sounds pretty applicable for the RIAA.’s reaction to Internet radio’s success.
